The fifth round of Sino-Japanese Entrepreneurs and Former High-level Officials Dialogue, co-hosted by the China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE) and Keidanren, was held in Tokyo, Japan from July 10 to 11. Mr. Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of CCIEE and former Vice Premier, and Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, former Japanese Prime Minister, addressed the opening ceremony. About 77 participants, including entrepreneurs and former government officials from China and Japan, had in-depth exchanges during panel discussions on such topics as Chinese and Japanese macroeconomic situation and Sino-Japanese economic and trade relations, third-party market cooperation, innovation and industrial revolution, and providing support for coordinated development of environment and society.
Mr. Sun Yunfei, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of COSCO SHIPPING, was invited to the dialogue and delivered a keynote speech at the sub-forum themed “Global Trade and Investment Environment and Strengthening China-Japan Third-Party Market Cooperation” on July 11. According to Mr. Sun, Sino-Japanese economic and trade cooperation is embracing new opportunities. Enterprises of the two countries should take the opportunity of the Belt and Road Initiative, make use of their advantages and seize new cooperation opportunities to achieve multi-win results. COSCO SHIPPING will continue to play a leading role in boosting trade between China and Japan.
Since its inception in 2015, the Sino-Japanese Entrepreneurs and Former High-level Officials Dialogue has been held alternately in China and Japan, and has become an important platform for exchanges and cooperation with Japan in China. It plays a key role in facilitating economic and trade ties as well as people-to-people exchanges, especially people-to-people diplomacy, between the two countries. As a representative of the shipping industry, COSCO SHIPPING has been invited to the event for several times.
During his visit to Japan, Mr. Sun also inspected COSCO SHIPPING Japan and extended solicitude to the local employees on behalf of the Corporation.
