On September 8th, 2018 (local time in Germany), a batch of Exhibits that would be displayed in China International Import Expo (CIIE) was loaded onto M.V. “COSCO SPAIN”. It is the first transport service that COSCO SHIPPING offered to the exhibitors since the company was nominated as CIIE’s recommended global transport service provider.
The exhibits are owned by a family firm that has a long history and is based in Baden-Württemberg, a state in south of Germany. The company gets involved in various fields such as auto, space flight, architecture, electricity generation, mechanical engineering, vessel, port, maritime works etc. Its driving, transmitting devices and casting, forging parts are well renowned and scaled the heights of Germany’s manufacturing industry.
Upon the receipt of transport consignment, Germany Company of COSCO SHIPPING which is in charge of the transport designed an end-end supply chain logistics solutions including export declaration, trucking, temporary storage, stuffing and lashing, railway transport, maritime transport etc. under the support of SeaExpress, COSCO SHIPPING’s logistics company in Germany and in view of the characteristics of the exhibits and the return transport after the conclusion of the expo.
According to the plan, trucks were arranged to go to the exhibitor’s factory and carried the cargo to a warehouse in Stuttgart where the exhibits were stored temporarily and the export declaration was handled at the same time. Then, in the morning of September 7th, the exhibits were stuffed and lashed in containers of COSCO SHIPPING to ensure the stability of the cargo. The same were transported later on the same day to a nearby railway station through the truck and to port of Hamburg through the train.
Today, the exhibits were successfully loaded onto the COSCO SPAIN, a container vessel of COSCO SHIPPING that has a carrying capacity of 13000 TEU. The COSCO SPAIN will sail along Far East-Northwest Europe route, an import shipping lane of 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and arrive at the port of Shanghai on October 9th after a voyage lasting for approximately a month. Inland transport will be arranged afterwards and the exhibits will be carried to the exhibition hall of CIIE which marks the end of the transport service.

Pursuant to the shipment of the first consignment of the exhibits, the transports of the exhibits from all over the world will kick off.
